Stewardship Moment: “For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that be God’s will, than for doing evil.” 1 Peter 3:17 The old line says “if you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans.” Many of us are diligent in our planning and making sure things are progressing smoothly. Then disaster strikes, we don’t get the result we anticipated or an unforeseen problem arises. Many times we may respond negatively and ask, “Why me? I did everything right!” Here’s the thing – adversity humbles us and reminds us of our dependence on God and not on our own self-reliance. Rest assured, God has a better plan in store for you.

Stewardship Moment: “The stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.”
1 PETER 2:7 Every person has been given gifts from the Holy Spirit. These are called “charisms” and they are used to build God’s kingdom of earth. While many people are able to recognize their natural talents and abilities, they may be unsure of their charisms. If you know someone who is struggling for a direction in life, give them a little encouragement. Help them discern their charisms and how God is calling them to use them. Remember - no gift is too small or insignificant in God’s salvation plan.

Today, Sunday May 3rd, the Altar Society will be providing a May Crowning luncheon after Mass. We will also be honoring Russell Beckley as he will have made his First Eucharist/Confirmation. Everyone is invited to the parish center for fellowship and food. Altar Society will be covering all of the meal expenses, and Kristin Beckley will provide a cake for dessert. Group 1 is in charge of the celebration. Come and Enjoy!
