Stewardship Moment: “And Peter said to them, ‘Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ…’”- Acts 2:38 The word “repent” means to turn from sin - to change our thoughts, words and actions. Change that is permanent comes from within – a transformation or conversion of heart. This requires prayer, discipline and perseverance. Change is hard. The first step is recognizing that we are broken and that we need God’s help. The good news - we are not alone in our journey. Ask Jesus daily for guidance and patiently listen for his response.

On Sunday, May 7th St. Elizabeth's Church will be having May Crowning with a potluck dinner following our 11AM Youth Mass. We will be celebrating the Coronation of Mary and our First Communicant/Confirmant, Berett Irmen. Altar Society will be providing ham, buns, condiments, and beverages. Bring your favorite dish to share. A cake will be served for dessert. Group 3 will be serving. Come join us in a day of celebration and fellowship.

I would like to thank all the altar society members for getting spring cleaning done in a timely manner. The church looks great. Group 2 will get the outside windows done when it warms up later. Also, would like to inform everyone that we will be having a church grounds clean-up day on Wed, May 10th at 4PM. Group 3 is in charge of outdoor flowers and hedge this year so I hope they will be able to attend. And others who can help out that day will be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Shelly Kurtz St. Anne's Altar Society President.

Second Collection: Support the Catholic Home Missions Appeal today! Your support funds religious education, seminary formation, lay ministry training, & other programs that build vibrant faith communities right here in the United States.

Fatima Corner: “If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace.
If not, she will spread her errors throughout the world (Communism), causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer; various nations will be annihilated. In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph.” Mary said this to the three children of Fatima.

Holy Father’s Prayer Intention for April: We pray for the spread of peace and non-violence, by decreasing the use of weapons by States and citizens.

Stewardship Moment: “Did not our hearts burn within us while He talked to us on the road, while He opened to us the scriptures?”-LUKE 24:32 How often do you take the time to discern what Jesus is calling you to do with your life? Are your prayers always petitions, asking Jesus to do things for you? If so, that is a one-sided relationship. Living our faith means developing a personal relationship with Jesus. Just like any friendship, there is give and take, each side listening to each other & helping each other out. Take time, in silence, to listen to what Jesus is asking of you today.

We wish to acknowledge so many people for all the work that went into our celebration of the Sacraments of Confirmation & First Holy Communion on April 16th. I am proud of all of our students who were confirmed and received Jesus in Holy Communion on Sunday. You are beginning the journey of faith as disciples of Jesus Christ. I am praying that you never lose sight of Jesus’ real presence in the Eucharist. You are all now full members of the church at Sacred Heart. Please be a good example to us all by continuing to receive the sacraments and cooperating with all of God’s graces that you have been given! Fr. Dodge

Holy Father’s Prayer Intention for April: We pray for the spread of peace and non-violence, by decreasing the use of weapons by States and citizens.

Faithful Petitions:
That we take time in silence, every day, to ask God what he wants us to do.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Father Dodge today, Sun., Apr. 23rd!! May God let you seeHis wonders in your life. Blessings to you!

Stewardship Moment: “Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, ‘Peace be with you.’” - John 20:19 Are you good at making people feel welcome? When you meet someone new, like a new neighbor, a new work colleague or a new parishioner, do you make them feel at home? When we make people feel welcome, we make them feel like they are included instead of being excluded. We are made for relationships – with God and each other. When you see yourself as a beloved son or daughter of God, you tend to see others the same way, too–just as God, Our Father, sees us.

Please come to the Sykeston Community Club Meeting on Monday, April 17, 7:00 P.M. at the Fire/City Hall. Agenda includes plans for the Fishing Derby and Sykeston’s 140th Celebration in July.

On Monday and Tuesday of this week, our bishop and the priests of the Diocese of Fargo will be at Maryvale for Spring Education Days. There will be no morning Mass at Sacred Heart or no evening Mass at St. Elizabeths during those days, but there will be Rosary and Daily Readings on Monday and Tuesday at 7:30 am at Sacred Heart.

Confirmation & First Eucharist will be held today, Sun., Apr. 16th at 2:00 pm. Students from Sacred Heart and St. Elizabeth’s: Gannon Inglish, Berett Irmen, Kullen Kovar, Jase Rude, Charles Sauby, Tristan Schroeder, Jack Skadberg, Chloe Thompson. A reception will be held in the parish hall following Confirmation. Everyone is welcome!

From Grief To Grace: On Wed., April 19th, 7 p.m. at the Brown Memorial Auditorium, New Rockford, several women from the Post Abortive Ladies (PALS) panel will share their powerful stories from grief to grace after having an abortion. Join them at 5:30pm for a BBQ Supper at St. John's Catholic Church beforehand and childcare will be available at the church from 6:45 until the end of the program.

Holy Father’s Prayer Intention for April: We pray for the spread of peace and non-violence, by decreasing the use of weapons by States and citizens.

FATIMA CORNER: Speaking during his weekly general audience in St. Peter’s Square recently, Pope Francis urged believers to renew the consecration of humanity - especially Russia and Ukraine - to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. “This is no magic formula,” he explained at the time, “but a spiritual act. It is an act of complete trust on the part of children who, amid the tribulation of this cruel and senseless war that threatens our world, turn to their Mother, reposing all their fears and pain in her heart and abandoning themselves to her.”

Prayer of the Faithful Petitions:
That we help our parish create a welcoming environment where people feel included.
