Stewardship Moment: “And Peter said to them, ‘Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ…’” Acts 2:38 The word “repent” means to turn from sin - to change our thoughts, words and actions. Change that is permanent comes from within – a transformation or conversion of heart. This requires prayer, discipline and perseverance. Change is hard. The first step is recognizing that we are broken and that we need God’s help. The good news - we are not alone in our journey. Ask Jesus daily for guidance and patiently listen for his response.

On Sunday May 3rd, the Altar Society will be providing a May Crowning luncheon after Mass. We will also be honoring Russell Beckley as he will have made his First Eucharist/Confirmation. Everyone is invited to the parish center for fellowship and food. Altar Society will be covering all of the meal expense, and Kristin Beckley will provide a cake for dessert. Group 1 is in charge of the celebration. Come and Enjoy!

May is the Month of Mary: May is the month that awakens nature: flowers bloom, fields turn green, and the sun shines brighter. But for Catholics, May is not just a time of natural renewal—it is also a spiritual season, for the Church has consecrated it in a special way to the Most Holy Virgin Mary. To honor Our Blessed Mother, please consider joining us next weekend for our First Saturday Devotion & Mass on Saturday, May 2nd at Sacred Heart. Rosary starts at 7:45 a.m., including 15 minutes of meditation (that Our Lady asks for), Confessions at 8:00 am, Mass starts at 8:30 am. Also, the Fatima prayers will be said as well. See today’s bulletin insert for details!

Looking Ahead: Mass on Sunday, May 17th will be at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart with a breakfast following to honor our graduates and in appreciation of our teachers and substitutes. Mass in Sykeston on May 17th will be at 8:30 am.

There will be church grounds clean up on Wednesday, April 29th starting at 130pm. Please bring any of your own lawn tools you feel will be needed.

Second Collection Today: Support the Catholic Home Missions Appeal today! Nearly 40% of dioceses in the United States and its current and former territories are considered mission territories because they are unable to fund essential pastoral activities for their communities. Your support funds religious education, seminary formation, lay ministry training, and other programs that build vibrant faith communities right here in the United States.
