Stewardship Moment: “The Advocate, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you.” (John 14:26) The materialism of our society lures us to concentrate more on what we want than on what God wants for us. The relativism of our world tells us that we should be tolerant of all things, that there is no absolute truth. Pray to the Holy Spirit to transform our lives and to guide our thoughts, words and actions. What you put in your mind, heart, and soul affects your actions. Put good things in and good things will come out.

Blessing of Fields: Anyone wishing to have their fields blessed, please call Fr. Leier to make an appointment and he would be happy to come and bless your fields.

Report Cards for religious education were mailed last week. If you have any questions or comments, contact the teacher, Diane Odstrcil, DRE, or Fr. Leier.

No Adoration or Confessions on Tuesday evening this week at Sacred Heart, because Fr. Leier will be attending the Women’s Care Center Luxury Bingo event that evening, June 10, at Devils Lake.

Rural Life Celebration: Please join Bishop Folda and the parishioners of St. James Basilica, on Sunday, June 29th at Calvin & Linda Leyendecker’s Farm, 4585 97th Ave SE, Marion, ND. Welcome begins at 4 p.m. with Mass at 4:30. After Mass will be a blessing of land, machinery, and animals followed by a meal. This event is free and open to all. RSVP by June 16th at: parish@stjamesbasilica.org (preferred) or (701) 252-0119.

Heavenly Wisdom by Venerable Fulton Sheen: “No soul ever fell away from God without giving up prayer. Prayer is that which establishes contact with Divine Power and opens the invisible resources of heaven. However dark the way, when we pray, temptation can never master us. The first step downward in the average soul is the giving up of the practice of prayer, the breaking of the circuit with divinity, and
the proclamation of one’s owns self sufficiency.”
