Stewardship Moment: “Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, ‘Peace be with you.’” John 20:19 Are you good at making people feel welcome? When you meet someone new, like a new neighbor, a new work colleague or a new parishioner, do you make them feel at home? When we make people feel welcome, we make them feel like they are included instead of being excluded. We are made for relationships – with God and each other. When you see yourself as a beloved son or daughter of God, you tend to see others the same way, too – just as God, Our Father, sees us.
On Sunday May 3rd, altar society will be providing a May Crowning luncheon after Mass. We will also be honoring Russell Beckley as he will have made his First Eucharist/Confirmation. Everyone is invited to the parish center for fellowship and food. Altar society will be covering all of the meal expense, and Kristin Beckley will provide a cake for dessert. Group 1 is in charge of the celebration. Come and Enjoy!
Priest Education Days: On Monday and Tuesday of this week, Bishop Folda and all the priests of the Diocese of Fargo will be gathering at Maryvale for Spring Education Days. Fr. Leier will be gone on Monday and Tuesday and thus no Mass on Tuesday in Sykeston or no adoration/confessions in Carrington on Tuesday, April 14th.
A very special thank you to all who helped in our Holy Week celebrations, especially in regards to the music, the altar servers, the readers. Also, thanks to all those who took the time to set up, decorated and made the whole church environment one pleasing to the Lord. In addition, a sincere thanks to all those who donated lilies to the church this Easter.
Divine Mercy Sunday marks the end of the Divine Mercy Novena, which began on Good Friday. Today, Sunday, April 12th from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm at Sacred Heart, we will have a Divine Mercy holy hour which will consist of adoration, confessions & praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet.
Holy Father’s Prayer Intention for April: Let us pray for priests going through moments of crisis in their vocation, that they may find the accompaniment they need and that communities may support them with understanding and prayer.
