Stewardship Moment: “…Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.” (John 14:27) Our limited human understanding cannot begin to understand the immense power of God. Instead of trusting in God, we often think we can control every outcome. Do you want to make God laugh? Tell Him your plans. The next time worry, anxiety or fear creeps in, thank God for all He has given you and trust that He has a better plan for you. Make God your first choice and not your last resort.

Memorial Day marks the end of school and the beginning of summer vacations. May you all have a very pleasant and relaxing summer. On Memorial Day, we remember our beloved dead especially those who gave their lives for our country. There will be a community wide service for our veterans at 11 am at the Carrington Cemetery.

Stewardship Moment: “I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another." (John 13:34) “As I have loved you,” this is the hard part – Jesus’s love is unconditional; our love usually comes with strings attached. It is easy to love someone when they love you back. But it takes mercy and compassion to love someone when you feel unappreciated, feel used or feel like your opinion doesn’t matter. It takes courage and the grace of God to “love my neighbor” when they may be someone you don’t like, someone you don’t know, or someone that doesn’t look like you.

We are honoring our Seniors today at mass. Congratulations to all on reaching this great milestone in your life! We pray that God will help you to see all the wonderful gifts that He has given you to help make the world a better place. As you attend Mass each week, you will be reminded through scripture to take your Catholic faith out into the world and bring Jesus to everyone you meet. This is the embodiment of real success! May God always bless you all the days of your life!! Members of the Senior Class from Sacred Heart are: Ryder Bickett, Corbin Clifton, Sierra Friedt, Edyn Hoornaert, Kendall Kovar, Mercedes Lura, Kenadie Pazdernik, Ethan Roller, Jaidyn Schroeder, Isabel Wendel, Reagan Wolsky, Jazmyn Ybarra.
From St. Elizabeths, Sykeston: Fallon Lacina.

Beginning this week, Fr. Leier is implementing a change in the weekday Mass, Adoration, and Confession schedule. Starting on May 20th, Tuesday Mass at St Elizabeth will begin at 12:10 PM. Confessions will be heard before Mass from 11:30am–12:00pm.

Heavenly Wisdom by Venerable Fulton Sheen: “Prayer begins by talking to God, but it ends by listening to Him. In the face of Absolute Truth, silence is the soul’s language.”

Stewardship Moment: “The disciples were filled with joy and the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 13:52) The disciples heard Our Lord’s call and were able to spread the Gospel message with strength and vitality. We, too, can experience that same joy if we make room for the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts. When we use our gifts in the way that God intends, He fills us with supernatural joy. A joy that others notice and are attracted to!
