Stewardship Moment: “Go, eat rich foods and drink sweet drinks, and allot portions to those who had nothing prepared…” - Nehemiah 8:10 Ezra’s instructions to the people show us that God does not forbid us from enjoying the good things in life. He wants us to be happy! However, God expects us to be grateful for all that He has given us and to generously share our blessings with those who are in need. Now here’s the hard part – to share all we have without expecting anything in return.
Today, is the Peter’s Pence Collection, a worldwide collection that supports the work of the Universal Church, including the work of the Holy See and the charitable works of Pope Francis. Take this opportunity to join with Pope Francis to be a sign of mercy to our suffering brothers and sisters. Please be generous today. For more information, visit www.obolodisanpietro.va/en.html. Heavenly Wisdom by Venerable Fulton Sheen: “The fact the enemies of God must face is that modern civilization has conquered the world, but in doing so has lost its soul. And in losing its soul it will lose the very world it gained…And as religion fades so will freedom, for only where the spirit of God is, is there liberty.”
