Stewardship Moment: “For God did not give us a spirit of cowardice but rather of power and love and self-control.” 2 Timothy 1:7 Many of us compartmentalize our Faith, we bring it out only when we attend Mass or when we attend a parish event. Being a good steward requires discipline and striving to put God first in everything - all the time. The next time you are at a neighborhood party or at work or out shopping, would your words and actions signal to others that you are a good and faithful servant of our Lord?
St. Elizabeth’s Fall Dinner and Bazaar will be held on October 12th. Group 2 will be in charge of organizing. Those group members are asked to stay all day and help out where needed and help with cleanup. Bishop Folda will be celebrating the Mass in Sykeston on Sunday, Oct. 12th.
On behalf of our brothers and sisters suffering in Gaza, I am asking you to take up a special collection the weekend of Oct. 4-5. I know there is never a good time to add another collection, but the need is real and growing more urgent. This should not be construed as taking sides in the military conflict, but only reaching out to assist those who are innocent and suffering. John T. Folda, Bishop of Fargo Archbishop Broglio states: Our Church mourns the terrible suffering of Christians and other innocent victims of violence in Gaza and surrounding areas who are struggling to survive, protect their children, and live with dignity in dire conditions. The Holy Father continues to call for a cease fire and for aid to enter the territory, noting with great sorrow that “Gaza is starving”.
Thank you to all who participated in Catholic Charities Sunday last weekend. Thank you for your generous support of those in need in North Dakota. If you missed the collection and wish to donate, please return your envelope soon. Those envelopes are sent directly to Catholic Charities, so checks can be made out to “Catholic Charities North Dakota”.

In October, the Catholic Church in the United States celebrates Respect Life Month, and the first Sunday of October is designated as Respect Life Sunday.
Holy Father’s Prayer Intention for October: Let us pray that believers in different religious traditions might work together to defend and promote peace, justice, and human fraternity.
