Stewardship Moment: “Rather, when you hold a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind; blessed indeed will you be because of their inability to repay you." Luke 14:13-14 One of the main principles of living a stewardship lifestyle is to give without expecting anything in return. This is difficult for some to comprehend in our “consumerist” culture that we live in. This is even difficult for many parish communities that have become heavily dependent on parish fundraising events to support the mission and ministry of their local parish. Generally speaking, at a parish fundraiser, you pay money and receive something in return, it’s just a financial transaction. This is opposed to our parish offertory at Holy Mass, where you unite your sacrifice with Jesus’, renewing our covenant relationship with Him.

▼ PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE OF TIME FOR MASS
Opening Mass For FFF Classes: To begin our religious education program, we will have an opening Mass on Wed., Sept. 3rd at 6:30 pm to start our school year. This will allow our students more time to have their evening meal before coming to Mass at 6:30 pm. A social with gelato from Cows &Co Creamery will be held following Mass in the parish hall.

FFF Classes: ALL CLASSES, grades Preschool-12 will be held on Wednesday evenings starting Sept. 10th from 6:30-7:30 pm. Grades P-4th will be in the basement of the rectory; Grades 5-8 and 10 and 11 will be in the Parish Center; Grade 9 will be in the Parish Hall. Seniors will meet at the Casey and Maartje Murphy home (7321 1st St. NE).

Fall Live Drive: Join us Sept. 9–11, from 7 AM to 7 PM each day, for Real Stories, Real People, and Real Faith on your local Catholic radio station. Support Real Presence Radio by tuning in at 99.7 FM, or calling 877-795-0122! Everyone who donates during the Live Drive will be entered into a daily drawing for an RPR Prayer Package.

Heavenly Wisdom by Venerable Fulton Sheen: “The secret of life is to have a task, something you devote your entire life to, something you bring everything to, every minute of the day for the rest of your life. And the most important thing is, it must be something you cannot possibly do.”

Holy Father’s Prayer Intention for August: Let us pray that societies where coexistence seems more difficult might not succumb to the temptation of confrontation for ethnic, political, religious, or ideological reasons.
